Sound baths are deeply relaxing and beneficial on many levels, but they are not a replacement for medical care, mental health support, or professional treatment.
They are generally considered safe, but there are a few reasons you are advised to check with your healthcare professional before booking yourself into a session:
Epilepsy or a history of seizures - especially if sound or sensory environments can be a trigger for you.
Severe undiagnosed mental health conditions - where deep relaxation or altered sensory states may feel unsettling.
Pregnancy - particularly during the first trimester, or if you have a history of problem pregnancies.
Pacemaker, implantable defibrillator, or any other electronic /metal implant or device.
Heart conditions, severe cardiovascular issues, stents, or recent heart surgery.
Metal plates, pins or rods.
Recent surgery, injuries, or chronic pain - if lying down for a period of time is uncomfortable for you.
Use of hearing aids or cochlear implants - the vibrations may feel different or intense; participants are advised to remove devices.
It is advisable that if at any point you feel unsettled, overstimulated, or do not wish to continue with the session, you may leave at any time, but please be mindful of others in the space.
By attending a session, you acknowledge that you take part voluntarily and are responsible for your own physical and emotional wellbeing.
